![]() Gaugemaster G Scale Show - 6th June 2015![]() PAT PETTETT reports from our outdoor railway show last weekend. ![]() Last Saturday we held our annual G Gauge show, to promote outdoor model railways for the summer. Luckily the weather was kind to us! ![]() A wide variety of stock was run, from LGB tank locos to Thomas, as well as painstakingly hand-built rolling stock. ![]() The huge Sussex G Scale Group layout being put together despite the size it is very well thought out and goes up quickly, and is of variable length. ![]() The G Scale Group ran multiple locomotives all day. ![]() Craig and Pat starting to set up our own track all of the points are digitally controlled from mobile phones and the Roco Z21. Buildings await placement near the station area. This year we opted for a double track arrangement this was much more flexible in terms of running than the single loop we have used in the past. ![]() Pats rather ancient Forney loco happily stomps around the undulating curve by the roadside. ![]() Just inside the front door, Charlie Fox-Wilson showed off just a very small part of Broke-Brick Mountain, the Old West G-Scale layout which won Best In Show at our Open Weekend last September. ![]() In the shop we made sure to display the latest G Scale items from Piko. ![]() Other layouts in attendance included Maggie Pettett's Little Green Buildings. This shows just how little space is needed for G scale modelling, as the main circle is made from radius 1 track. The layout is just four feet six inches wide! Amazingly many of the buildings are made from cereal packets pretty much anything can be used as a raw material for modelling. ![]() Also on show was Brian Taylor's Southern dockside scene with a fantastic hand-painted backscene. Pat will be following this up with a few more G Scale-based articles throughout the summer. |
