![]() ![]() Show Report - The International N Gauge Show 2018![]() CRAIG WEATHERLEY reports back from TINGS. After the Gaugemaster Model Railway Open Weekend on 1st-2nd September, all of our staff were exhausted - however, for a lucky three of us the following weekend was another working weekend - at the International N Gauge Show in Leamington Spa. On Friday 7th September, after a lot of organising in tandem with the Open Weekend, Matt Lovell, Ian Garnham, and I left the delightful south-coast and headed north towards Leamington Spa for the setup. Once there, the long process of setting up the stand and getting it looking presentable began. ![]() ![]() After a few hours work, the stand was now ready for the weekend ahead! ![]() The Saturday was busy, with an increase in visitors compared to the previous year. Our stand was being swamped by eager customers, and in fact Matt and I had to stand out in the walkway so more punters could get in to see the different ranges that we had on offer. One range in-particular that the public were rushing to see, was our new range of N Scale Light Signals, launched at the Open Weekend the week before. On the Sunday morning, after a hearty breakfast, I decided to go around before the doors opened and get a good look at some of the layouts which were on display at the show. Some really caught my eye and a lot of layouts were using Gaugemaster products like the Kestrel Building Kit range, as well as many of the items available in the Gaugemaster Scenics range. Below is a model of the Langston Bridge which linked Hayling Island with the mainland, it was a very basic track layout, but very realistic and effective. Click image to view larger version. There was also an interesting Canadian Pacific layout called Bear Creek, inspired by British Columbia and featuring Grain Silos, and bears attacking an army base! Click image to view larger version. All in all, it was a very good show with over forty traders all with different products on offer, and around thirty layouts with a different variety of different locations, from British to European to American and Canadian, in all shapes and sizes. We hope that everyone enjoyed the International N Gauge Show, and we will see you at Warley at the end of November! |
