![]() ![]() Show ReportModel Rail Scotland 2019![]() JACK PALMER reports back from the Glasgow show last weekend. It's the end of February, and that is the time of year when Gaugemaster attend the annual Model Rail Scotland exhibition in Glasgow. So, very early on the 20th February, Craig, Matt, and I departed a dark and cold Sussex for a 455 mile trip to the Scottish Exhibition Centre. After several hours of driving alongside the West Coast Mainline, we made it to a warm and sunny Glasgow with enough time to visit the Glasgow Riverside Museum to check out the collection of locomotives on show. They even have a mock-up model shop with plenty of vintage railway models on display. ![]() Thursday was set-up day, so that morning we began to build our stand in the exhibition. After making sure everything was in the right place and the display layout was working, the stand was completed that same afternoon and ready for the three day event ahead. ![]() We would like to thank everybody that came and visited our stand to either say hello, ask for some advice, or to buy something from us! Formakin by Bishopton MRCOn Sunday morning I had the chance to have a look around the show and see at some of the layouts on show. This layout is modelled in the rarely-seen British HO Scale and is made up of mostly second-hand stock. I didn't know that British HO existed until I saw this layout! It also features the Faller Car System. ![]() ![]() ![]() Humber Yard by Ian Rankin and Keith FoxThis tidy layout is modelled in American/Canadian HO Scale and is made up from mostly Peco track and Walthers Cornerstone kits which can be purchased from our shop or online. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wulstanton Road by Steve FarmerThis small but busy British N Scale layout is roughly only 5ft in length and is a perfect example of what you can make do with a small space. Hawkins Halt by Warley MRCThis colourful layout sets itself out from the rest as its based around the popular children's TV show "Peppa Pig" and makes use of both N and OO Scale track. Not sure what railway related things you can do when building your layout? No problem, something like this can also be done. We hope our customers enjoyed the show and we will now be looking forward to the next show that Gaugemaster be attending, The London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace on the weekend of 23rd and 25th March. See you there. |
