Atlas model railroad was founded in 1924 as a tooling company. Through the enthusiasm of the founder's son, Steve Schaffan Jr., the company soon turned to model railway track, pioneering the first designs for pre-assembled points and flexible track. Further expansion of the range saw the introduction of the innovative Super-Flex track and an ever-expanding range of American and Canadian N, HO and O scale locomotives and rolling stock, all build to a high prototypical quality.
There is a wealth of online content relating to the range, including a YouTube channel offering many videos of their products in action, as well as a downloadable layout planning programme.

The most popular part of the range is their selection of HO scale locomotives and rolling stock. Evocative names such as Rio Grande, Santa Fe, and Canadian National feature heavily, with an impressive array of coal cars, passanger coaches, tanker wagons and many more in a wide varity of liveries.
Also available is a selection of buildings, both industrial and residential, to enhance your American layout, as well as a range of animal figures and bridges featuring different logos of train companies.
 The N scale range is as wide as the HO range. Each locomotive comes in a variety of liveries, as does the rolling stock, covering all the major American and Canadian Railroad companies, as well as buildings and scenics.
They also produce an extensive range of versatile track:
Code 100 track for HO, with black sleepers and nickel-silver rails is durable and reliable. The range of Code 83 track provides the same durability with a more scaled look, boasting brown plastic sleepers and finely scaled nickel-silver rails.
The HO True-Track combines the detail of the Code 83 track with a realistic gray gravel effect ballasted roadbed. Using Snap-Track technology the track can be used over and over again on different layouts.
The Atlas range of N track is very similar to the HO range. Code 80 is black sleepered with nickel-silver track, and built to last.
Code 55 Track has realistic brown plastic wooden sleepers, and scaled nickel-silver rails; however this precision does not compromise the strength and durability of the track.
The N scale True-Track range is still growing, but the range allows modellers to have maximum realism on their layouts. The Code 65 rail is scaled to US prototype, as is the sleeper spacing.

 In addition to their extensive N and HO scale ranges, Atlas also produce a range of high quality O scale locomotives, rolling stock, and track, with power and control equipment available as well.
 As with the N and HO ranges, there are a complimentary range of buildings and accessories as well as all the track you need to get your locomotives running.
Accurately scaled and highly detailed, the O scale range is America's favourite large scale train set, and is now fully available in the UK from Gaugemaster and leading Model and Hobby shops.
With both ready-to-run train sets and individual items on sale, the range is accessable by both beginners and those wanting to add to their existing layout. Locomotives are available in a selection of North American liveries.
The building range is made up of both kits and ready built items, each part moulded in appropriate colours with detailed texture allowing them to be used straight out of the box.
