Original replica of Fire Station 1 in Nuremberg, built in 1902, as it is still in operation today. Multi-part building complex in which there are various rooms for use as a team room, carpenter's shop, locksmith's shop, clothing store, telecommunications, medical and functional department, and hose drying room. 5-permanent vehicle hall from which the 3 large, double-leaf gates can be opened / closed manually. The construction of this fire station began in 1900 and was ready for occupancy in May 1902. Once planned for horse-drawn emergency vehicles, it still fulfills the tasks of a high-tech emergency world today. The horse stables at that time were converted into vehicle parking spaces. The high lattice tower served as a hose drying room at that time. Above the vehicle shelters were the crew bedroom, the clothing and equipment room, kitchen, dining room, washroom and bathroom as well as a lounge. There was even an infirmary for the horses. Of the approx. 100 emergency officers today, 24 firefighters are constantly on duty and work in the associated departments such as telecommunications, medical and specialist departments for radiation and measurement technology, fire extinguisher workshop, carpentry, Locksmith's shop and in the clothing store. Fire station 1 is the oldest of the 5 fire stations of the Nuremberg professional fire brigade. The year is 1902: Nuremberg receives a new, large fire station. The fire brigade is still deployed with horse-drawn vehicles, but motorized special vehicles will soon be waiting behind the large gates. Today the imposing building is the oldest of five guards of the Nuremberg professional fire brigade. The model corresponds to the early state of the guard, with the towering lattice tower for hose drying, heavy wooden gates, a central bell tower and a terrace at the back.
