The multiple unit is available in two- to eight-car versions. The largest operator is the SBB, where the RABe 511 multiple units are used in four and six-car variants in regional and national traffic. The Swiss BLS also has 39 KISS sets ?? but with the new crash-optimized vehicle head. In 2019, Deutsche Bahn AG bought 17 KISSs from the Austrian Westbahn and converted them for use in intercity traffic. The four-part IC2 trains run on the Dresden ?? Rostock and Vienna ?? Rostock. This year these are to be increased to six cars. Other operators are the CFL, the Westfalenbahn, the ODEG and the MAV.
