They are called "open frame" and were built in two main types, with the supporting beams of the frame outside or in a central position; the latter type is widespread mainly among railway companies in Italy, Switzerland and France, and allows for weight savings compared to the type with external beams. A batch of 250 Sgnss wagons was built for the CEMAT company, now part of Mercitalia Rail, recognizable by their livery entirely in wagon green and by the lightening holes on the central beams.
