The Taiwan Shinkansen is Taiwan's first bullet train, which was opened in 2007 by the Taiwan High Speed Rail (commonly known as Taiwan High Speed Rail) with a distance of 345 km between Taipei and Zuo Rong (Kaohsiung).
The tracks and facilities are in the hands of the European Union, but the rolling stock is based on the 700 Series Shinkansen, which is active on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines, and is the first Japanese bullet train to go overseas.
Compared to the 700 Series Shinkansen, the nose is shorter, and the orange belt that extends from the end of the car body is a major feature. The 700T, which was developed to suit the climate of Taiwan, has a maximum speed of 300km/h and is active between Nangang (Taipei) and Zuo Rong (Kaohsiung).
