2011 marked the 40th anniversary of Amtrak – to commemorate this historic birthday, Amtrak painted a number of its locomotives into a series of anniversary schemes, each taking design cues from a different paint and logo era from the railroad’s history. These units were built at the end of the 1990's and quickly became a well known part of the Amtrak fleet. By 2001 over 300 of these units were built for Amtrak, Metro-North, and Via Rail. These models feature superb detail on the body, all wheel pickups, directional lighting and scale knuckle couplings. Locomotive Details:- Class: P42
