11-326 Train mark conversion device for 581 and 583 (character)
The world's first sleeper / seat dual-purpose DC train 581 which appeared in 1967, was newly added in 1968 by the completion of the double line of the Tohoku Main Line and electrification work. Improvements have been added as a 50/60 Hz dual-use 583 system compatible with the 50 Hz interchange in the East Japan region. The daytime express was "Hatsukari", and the night sleeper was "Hakutsuru" as "Yuzuru" and began to be active between Ueno and Aomori.
Currently, it remains in the Akita vehicle center of JR East, and since it has become a set configuration that can reproduce the existing six-car formation active in group trains, it can be enjoyed by a wide generation from JNR era to JR.
KATO has been commercialized with a lineup that can reproduce various formations in Tohoku and Kansai at the time of the October diamond revision in 1958 (1978), following the Legend Collection 581 series and also known as the definitive edition.
