The electric locomotives of the class Ge 4/4 III are the most modern locomotives of the RhB and can be seen above all types of trains. With an output of 2,400 kW and a top speed of 100 km / h, they meet all the requirements that are associated with use on a mountain railway. In recent years, the RhB has started to modernize the locomotives delivered from the mid-1990s - on the one hand, the electronics are renewed and thus brought up to date, and on the other hand, the locomotives receive modern LED headlights and those originally installed Signal horns are replaced by a compressed air whistle. Modernized in this way, the locomotives will be in service for another 20 to 25 years.
