Most railways today handle a large part of the freight traffic with containers, as is the case with the Rhaetian Railway in Graubünden. Since the same containers have to be loaded on the narrow-gauge railway as on the standard-gauge railway, a special design was required: the loading area is lowered between the bogies so that the wagon with the loaded container does not exceed the clearance profile. In addition to containers, these wagons can also be used to load transport racks - for logs, for example - which can then be completely transferred either to standard gauge wagons or - for the last few kilometers to the destination - to a truck. There are different types of carriages, especially the arrangement of the handbrake: One car has a handbrake crank mounted on the brakeman's platform.
