In October 2018, the Stern & Hafferl company received the new 187 333 "Last Mile" in its own design, replacing the previously used Railpool 187 315. Rail Cargo Austria mainly covers the trains between the Gmunden and Ebensee cement works. The 187 Series, as the first representative of Bombardier's third-generation Traxx range, embodies a state-of-the-art electric bogie locomotive for 15kV, 16.7Hz and 25kV 50Hz AC systems. As a special feature, the new machine has a 180 kW auxiliary diesel engine, with which it is able to overrun short, non-overhead line spans at about 50 km / h.
