DetailsBuilt at Vulcan Foundry and released into British Rail service as D6971 on 18 March 1965, this locomotive was initially allocated to Cardiff Canton. It was rebuilt as a Class 37/4 and renumbered 37418 in 1985, later receiving the name ‘An Commun Gaidhealach’ (The Gaelic Association) in 1986. Following service in the Provincial General Pool and subsequent renamings, the locomotive was sold to a private owner in 2007.
