DetailsBetween 1943 and 1944, over 100 Class 52 steam locomotives were produced at the Société Alsacienne de Constructions Mécaniques (SACM) factory in Graffenstaden near Strasbourg. In 1945 and 1946, a further 17 locomotives were delivered to the SNCF, where they were designated as Class 150 Y. Notable for their shorter chimneys to comply with the French loading gauge, these locomotives handled both heavy freight and passenger trains across the SNCF’s eastern region. They remained in service until the late 1950s. This model captures the robust design, technical details, and historic significance of this iconic wartime steam locomotive. |
