Always good to see old friends – especially at WIKING! The Opel Blitz celebrates its première as a refrigerated truck sporting the “Seefische” look. WIKING fans are well aware of the long tradition behind this self-promotion, as numerous examples have recently been introduced to collectors and found their liking. The traditional model makers now complement these examples with a promotion of sea fish, serving as a remembrance of a popular WIKING advertisement that dates back five decades and became an integral part of WIKING’s line of model vehicle even in those early days. The refrigerated truck version of the Opel Blitz gives off the aura of a typical WIKING product thanks to the striking lettering and the catchy logo mark it puts on display. This time, the sales boxes for fresh sea fish are included as a bonus - naturally, imprinted with the logo mark! The cooler box body is one of those unique WIKING classics that have only been used on very few occasions to this day. Nonetheless, it fit into a welcome niche when it was first unveiled, demonstrating WIKING’s courage to enter new territory and the broad expanse of their portfolio.
