Colorful pretzel beetle for the Sieper anniversary
The pretzel beetle has never been seen so colorful at WIKING! But the occasion is reason enough for the bright orange of the Wolfsburg endurance runner: 100 years of the Sieper Group - that's a century dedicated to design, toys and model making. Since 1984, after the takeover of Wiking-Modellbau by the Lüdenscheid group of companies, the traditional brand history has been continued in a multifaceted way. To the delight of many collectors, the tradition of the big world of small miniatures lives on alongside the sister brand siku with many model-making impulses. On the occasion of the anniversary, after the VW T1 panel van, there is now also the VW pretzel beetle as a memorable souvenir. After the end of the Second World War, VW started with the first production in May 1945, before 1. 785 cars were built. In the following year, 10,020 vehicles rolled off the assembly line. The pretzel beetle was produced until February 1953. In the production period of almost eight years, 402,921 pretzel beetles were built. In 1953, the all-round visibility at the rear of the car was improved and the omitted central bar turns the pretzel beetle into the so-called oval.
