Huge Hanoverian chain powerhouse The K55 chain tractor from the Hanoverian Hanomag works, whose type code stands for the 55 hp diesel engine, has a unique position in the model history of the WIKING chronology: It was already in the 1950s at a scale of 1:25 Designed by the Berlin model builders as a purely illustrative model exclusively for Hanomag. When the hood was removed, a view of the simulated engine was revealed. More was noticeable: It was more than unusual for tracked vehicles to be steered with a steering wheel. The Hanomag K55 was the rare exception, because otherwise the learned lever control was the order of the day. No wonder that the K55 with snow blade ?? whether in the forest and or on the construction site ?? was easier to steer even for the inexperienced men in the driver's seat.
