Back in the day, the Ruhr District city was the beer capital of Europe - now, this superlative is in the past. WIKING deemed this reason enough to bring back to life the automotive past of the brewing industry in this Ruhr Valley metropolis. They chose for their reincarnation the typical beverage lorry mounted on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz short bonnet. In the fifties and sixties, the Dortmunder Union brewery ranked among the largest breweries of the time - not only in the Ruhr region but in Germany as a whole. In consequence, the easily recognisable white and red lorries of the powerful brand delivered Dortmund export beer not only throughout the heart of Westphalia but also to a large number of branches all over the Federal Republic.
Driver’s cab and beverage body with advertising bridge white. Chassis and wheel rims traffic red. Interior anthracite. Beverage cases with iridescent wood colours. Doors on the sides with coloured Union logo. Tail lights imprinted red. Beverage bridge with lettering Dortmunder Union Bier. Beer glass and Union logo added on the rear. Case imprint with Union-Brauerei lettering and bottle caps.
