This tour had it all - a test drive to the limit for man and machine! In 1965 it was 7018 kilometers from Munich to Kabul - spectacular prototype history. WIKING miniaturizes the semitrailer with a lot of love for history and role model. Because this red Magirus semitrailer, which the traditional model builders have miniaturized 87 times this time, has a remarkable history behind it. After the forward control generation from the Ulm truck manufacturer celebrated its premiere at the IAA in 1963 and heralded the start of Magirus' long-distance transport business, the Magirus managers carried out an endurance test in 1965. Both the Magirus 235 D 22 tractor and the two-axle dump truck trailer from C. Blumhardt Fahrzeugwerke from Wuppertal-Vohwinkel took the unpredictable route to Kabul on March 8 of that year. At that time, the semi-trailer, fully loaded with 20 tons, followed a powerful convoy of trucks from Munich to Kabul, which also included ten Magirus corner hood 200 D 16 trucks. They were intended – also fully loaded – for the major construction site of the Mahipar power plant not far from Kabul.
